Before the Events of Hellsing[]
Born into the prestigious and mysterious Hellsing family, Integra has been sheltered and educated all her life to take the place of her father as Bureau Director of the Hellsing Organization. Integra's Mother does not appear in her flashbacks, suggesting either that Integra never met the woman or that she died when Integra was very young. When she was 12 years old, Integra's father passed away and entrusted her with their family's mission to lead the Royal Protestant Knights and protect England against the vampires.
Immediately after Arthur’s death, Richard Hellsing, jealous of Integra for inheriting the family headship, attempted to hunt her down and kill her. Integra escaped her traitorous uncle and managed to reach a dungeon in the mansion's sublevels, where her father had said she would find her salvation. Hoping to find a knight, she stumbled across an old, dried-out corpse instead. Richard found her, cornered her, and shot her in her shoulder, spilling her blood across the floor of the room.
Richard and his men were confused, but thought it was just a corpse and nothing else. Richard points his gun at Integra, ready to shoot her until he heard something that sounded like someone licking blood. Richard was horrified when he saw that the corpse, that ended up being a vampire whom Arthur had imprisoned 20 years earlier, awoke and licked up Integra's blood and freed itself from the straightjacket it was Imprisoned with, saving Integra in the process. It then slices another one of Richard's mens' head off with ease and drinks the blood in hunger. It went straight to the terrified men and kills all of them before slicing Richard's arms, then shifting it's attention from Richard to Integra when it saw her.
The vampire explained that her blood was the first blood he had tasted in over 20 years. Integra shoots the vampire but the vampire laughs it off. After seeing Integra disobey him, along with her bravery, it was impressed. Interrupted by Richard, who desperately attempted to kill Integra one last time, the vampire blocked a bullet headed straight toward the young Integra. Picking up a gun, Integra shot and killed her uncle, becoming the last descendant of the Hellsing bloodline. The vampire, whose name was Alucard, became her loyal servant.
The Events of Hellsing[]
Order 01: The Undead[]
At the beginning of the episode, Alucard is called in to take care of a vampire. Once Alucard has disposed of it, he reports his mission's success to someone in a car; although not shown, that someone is presumably Integra.
In a private meeting with the London Police Chief Detective and Special Forces D11 top official, Integra makes her first appearance. The two men inform her of a problem in the village of Cheddar. Cheddar's new priest is a vampire; when the villagers and the local police went to arrest him, they were killed. The London Police Authority sent in an elite D11 squad to handle the situation, but half the squad was wiped out by the dead villagers and police. Integra, smoking a cigar, calmly tells them that the victims, who have had their blood drained solely for food, are no longer human; they are now ghouls, and that Hellsing Organization is already in Cheddar. The captain asks her how many units she has sent in. Integra smiles and laughs, answering, "One."
After the meeting, Integra is flown via helicopter from London to Cheddar. Through a headphone, she tells the chief detective that the one whom she has dispatched (Alucard) is best suited for the situation; she tells him not to worry and that she will handle the situation.
Alucard finishes the mission and returns to Integra. Hellsing's troops are at the site, and Integra stands aside, silently waiting for Alucard to return. She holds a cigar in her hand and watches the road. Upon seeing him, a very small, satisfied smile crosses her face and quickly fades as he approaches her. Alucard reports that the mission has been completed. Coolly, Integra replies that he took too long on a single target. Her gaze falls to Seras, who is wrapped in blankets in Alucard's arms and looks very dazed. Integra says that an ambulance should be called and starts to walk away.
However, Alucard says that he would like the female police officer to be transferred to Hellsing Organization. Integra looks over her shoulder, seemingly annoyed and surprised. Seras nods at her, but Integra's expression only becomes more severe. In an aggravated voice, she tells Alucard not to do selfish things and later, Integra walks away and loudly snaps that Hellsing will withdraw.
Order 02: Club M[]
Integra sees Seras and mockingly tells her to not drink their blood. Seras says that she's not like that. She then goes back to her room to talk with Alucard, and questions him about his actions on turning her into a vampire. They both then talk about the new case. Integra was able to track down Leif and Jessica's route and sends Alucard and the Hellsing Organization Special Military Forces along with Seras to dispose of them. Integra later on was seen training with her Walther PPK when Walter came to bring news. Later on the mission was successful.
Order 03: Sword Dancer[]
Integra was seen with the Lieutenant from Episode 1, watching an autopsy on a FREAK vampire named Enrico Stivaletti. They both talk, and Integra leaves before the autopsy is finished. Integra then orders Alucard to talk with her, the vampire does what he is told to and talks with her about the FREAK chip. As Integra gets a phone call, Alucard disappears without a trace. Integra was frustrated when she notices that Alexander Anderson, an Iscariot Organization Agent has come to England. Integra is seen walking and talking with Walter about a FREAK vampire who is on a murder spree, killing all police officers that tried to stop him. Integra was frustrated and orders Peter Fargason and Commander Gareth's soldiers to end the vampire, with Alucard in tow, noticing that Anderson could be a threat.
Integra was proven correct when Anderson ambushed the Hellsing Soldiers, killing their commander, Gareth Henderson. Iscariot sends a letter to Integra causing Integra to go to the place to stops the Trump Cards from causing major damage to the building and brings the letter to Anderson. Integra was frustrated when Alucard fails to stop Alexander and almost lost and to Seras cause she couldn't protect Gareth. Integra goes outside to smoke and sees Alexander leaving.
Order 04: Innocent as A Human[]
Fargason informs Integra that a new captain from the SAS has been hired. He's apparently quite good, and later, Fargason and the new captain, named "Steadler", leave for a mission.
Integra was called by Walter who then shows her a snuff movie that has been circulating on the Internet. She makes a comment about the ease of acquiring things via the online underground. Walter agrees but tells her that this film isn't ordinary and shows brief scene depicting the insignia of Hellsing Organization, worn by Gareth, who died at the hands of the Vatican's agent in episode 3. Integra then asks when it was shot. Walter says that the clip is 3 minutes long, and although it has no identifiable location, it probably occurred during an incident three weeks ago. Integra asks how many people have seen it, but Walter points out that due to the nature of the Internet, it's impossible to know, but that it was released two days ago for 24 hours. He adds that several tabloids and news teams have acquired the video, but the Hellsing press team will handle the situation. Integra, angered, says that the Royal Protestant Knights can't be revealed to the public. Integra gets off the phone with MI-5, and was interrupted by Alucard who has come to ask Walter for a brand new gun. As Alucard leaves, Integra tries to ask Alucard for some help, but Alucard only smiles, touches his hat, and says "Good evening, Miss Hellsing."
Somehow the media has gained information about the Hellsing's latest raid in Camden Town. Fargason is notified of this development; apparently, someone inside the building is taping the events and transmitting the video via the Internet. Kim, the woman who was saved by Gareth, is broadcasting the footage on the air and says that a special agency, possibly a government one, is attacking citizens. Integra, driving towards the site, is angry at the situation. Suddenly, she realizes something about "misinformation." Kim, meanwhile, says that the citizens under attack are vampires, although there is no proof of this. She is, however, cut off before she can continue.
Integra arrives at the site and tells Fargason that it isn't looking good. Fargason apologizes and says that they have almost caught the "rat." Seras finds the man and he is arrested. However, after the man is been interrogated, Walter tells Integra that there's no conclusive evidence that he worked for any organization; furthermore, there are others like him who have the same motivations and skills to do similar things.
Seras does some investigating on her own and realizes that the new captain is a traitor after spying on him. Steadler has been leaking news about Hellsing to Kim. Alucard interrupts Kim and Steadler, who was making another snuff video with a vampire. He eliminates the Vampire, but, Seras comes and stops Alucard from killing Steadler and Kim. Fargason and Integra later arrives, stops Seras and Alucard and Fargason takes the captain away.
Kim tries to deny any wrong doing to Integra, claiming that just watching a murder isn't a crime. After all, she didn't produce the video, and she has an obligation to report to the public what she sees. When asked about the reporter's fate, Integra says that the woman should be tried for her crimes. Kim is relieved by this decision. But then, in one of her most ruthless moments, Integra adds, "But her crimes aren't punishable by law." Alucard then asks if he can do what he wants with the reporter. Integra allows Alucard to suck Kim's blood and later Integra watches the scene with a cold expression on her face before leaving.
Order 05: Brotherhood and Order 06: Dead Zone[]
After learning that a MI-5 agent was killed on a mission while investigating the artificial vampires (Freaks), Integra tells Walter that someone has announced their intention to go against Great Britian. Walter says that means a Round Table conference will be held soon, and Integra agrees.
Later, Hellsing troops are sent to deal with a recent attack. Integra, who was walking down the hallway was stopped by Alucard, who was hanging upsidedown from the ceiling and asks Integra if he should go. Integra however declines the request and says that she wants the Human Troops to handle the situation, and not him. Alucard responds back by insulting the humans and says that his brand new gun, the Jackal, begs for a test. Integra ignores him and proceeds to walk towards her office.
Meanwhile, in the raid, Seras realizes that this was all a trap set by the Valentine brothers, and fortunately, manages to get everyone out of the building before the hidden bomb explodes. Fargason notifies Integra of the situation and apologizes. Integra, though, is angry at the 'second-rate monsters' for underestimating the Hellsing Family.
The next evening, the members of the Round Table arrives at Hellsing Manor. Integra who was gazing at her father's painting in the office, was informed by Walter that the Round Table members had arrived. The Knights are already seated when she enters the meeting room. She comments that the Knights of this age no longer carry swords; the apparent leader of the group says that modern knights have weapons other than swords.
Sir Irons says that according to Integra's latest report, the recent wave of vampires are artificial and have had Freak chips implanted in them. Integra replies that according to their order, Hellsing's duty is to take care of the undead, including vampires, but the mechanics and circulation of the Freak chip are not its concern and looks to the other member and she replies that they are investigating the matter. Integra adds that the MI-5 agent sent out shouldn't have been killed, especially with the flag of Great Britian through his chest. Sir Penwood, another Knight, says that part of the problem is that Hellsing's activities have become more visible. Although the undead have always existed, the Round Table has consistently kept the public unaware of this fact; until recently, they could accomplish this by having complete control over the undead. According to Penwood, Hellsing's recent obvious activities are tarnishing the organization's history. Integra, unmoved, answers that the enemy has firearms, and there is nothing Hellsing can do about that. She adds that intelligence is his department. He says that there is a limit to the amount of mass-media regulation they can do. Integra wonders, then, if the powers of the Round Table have deteriorated that much. Insulted, Penwood insults her and comments that her father would never speak like that. Integra responds back by saying that her father... is her father.
Suddenly, the Valentine brothers launched a sneak attack on the Hellsing Manor and slams a Bus into the entrance. They break in with armed ghouls and Luke, the big brother, uses an M202 Flash to blow up the Knights car to prevent them from escaping. From the third floor, the Knights hear the explosions and are worried. Integra learns that ghouls are attacking and goes into shock. Integra then speaks to Fargason via telephone, but their contact is effectively cut off by Jan. Integra, after calling his name several times, hears a gun shot and, assuming the worst, screams.
The Knights of the Round Table, hearing the gunshot, ask Integra what is happening. She evasively tells them they are under attack by unknown forces and that Hellsing's troops are currently fighting the invaders. Then suddenly, Jan speaks into the radio and greets the members of the Round Table, then, calling Integra some obscene names, he introduces himself. Jan informs them that he and his ghouls are devouring Hellsing's troops and lets Integra hear the sound of the Ghouls eating the dead Hellsing Soldier, horrifying Integra. After this, Jan announces his intention to kill them all, and asks them that if they had finished peeing themselves, or praying to God and asks if they're prepared to beg for their lives before stating that they still have time to commit suicide. The Round Table members demand to know about Integra's escape route. Although she looks stressed, Integra calmly says that there is an emergency helicopter. Some of the Knights want to leave immediately, but Integra points out that the room is protected by thick lead. However, if they leave, she can't protect eleven people from the ghouls by herself. She says that Fargason must have alerted the authorities, so there will be an investigation sent after them. An explosion outside attracts their attention. Integra goes the window and comments that the helicopter has been destroyed.
Meanwhile, the first and second floors have been seized by the Valentines' ghouls. The few survivors are gathered in the basement. Alucard is waiting for Luke, so Walter and Seras go to the third floor to save Integra. After ruminating about the inequalities of the British class system, Jan decides that he won't kill Integra like an average human; instead, he conceives the horrid idea of raping her several times too. With the ghouls, he heads towards the third floor.
The Knights, panicking, put more pressure on Integra to save them. Integra doesn't seem to be handling their demands well, but she says that Hellsing hasn't used its ace yet. Integra says that what Hellsing is going through now hardly compares to what her ancestor faced a century ago. She then goes on a rant about how the scum attacking them will definitely burn in the fiery pits of hell.
After Walter and Seras wipe out all of Jan's Ghouls, and the transformation of Hellsing's dead into ghouls, Jan finally makes it to the Round Table's meeting room and blows open the door, Integra is sitting calmly in her chair holding a Walther PPK. Jan greets her, and then, Integra fires six bullets into his head. He's only slightly stunned, so he laughs as she calmly walks towards him. He holds up his own weapon, then realizes that the bullets in his forehead are incendiary quick-silver. Integra orders him to give her his master's name; she won't forgive him until he does. Jan laughs again and snaps his fingers; his body lights on fire, and he continues laughing hysterically until he's nothing but ashes. Integra only watches.
Order 07: Duel[]
The surviving members of Hellsing attend the funeral held for the men who died during the Valentine brothers' raid. Although it is raining and she has no umbrella, Integra remains in the graveyard after everyone else has left and flashes back to when Sir Hugh Irons orders Integra to kill the remaining ghouls, and told her that since she was the commander of Hellsing and that she was responsible for everything. He then proceeds to hand her a gun. Integra, upset, takes the weapon without question and then shoots all of the Hellsing Ghouls who survived Seras's bloodlust. Now, as she stands in front of their graves, she says that she won't ask them for forgiveness. The scene then switches to when she killed the ghouls, and with tears running down her face, she says that it is her fault.
In the damaged Hellsing mansion, Walter informs Integra that out of 192 Hellsing soldiers, only 57 survived. Walter goes on to say that 24 of the 57 survivors were injured, and the rest were fine because they were not in Hellsing during the attack. Integra then asks him about Fargason. Walter says Fargason needs 3 weeks to fully recover, but, he will return in two days.
Later, Integra is in the shooting gallery. She recalls the images of Luke and particularly of Jan from her meeting earlier with Walter. Walter says that the investigation unit is looking into who the brothers worked for. They are seeking cooperation from the MI-5. Integra tells him not to skip over any detail, no matter how small. Hellsing is being rebuilt, but Integra continues to work as normal. In her mail pile, she notices a letter (which says "Not a Bomb" on it) with the Iscariot Division seal. The letter, which is quite sappy and trite, invites Integra to the military art museum. Integra angrily stabs the envelope seal with her letter opener.
Later on, in the museum, Enrico Maxwell, the head of the Iscariot Organization who sent a letter to Integra in episode 3, asking her to tell Anderson to return to the Vatican, appears. Integra, gazing at a war painting, greets him. He apologizes for making her wait and holds out his hand to her. She ignores him until he's visibly annoyed, but he only straightens and says that he seems to be disliked. Integra, still without looking at him, states his name and rank and demands to know what he wants. In a very oily manner, Maxwell, ironically, says that he only came to pay his respects to the 135 killed and 24 wounded men and then, Integra turns angrily as he continues, stating that he heard Hellsing was almost wiped out by ghouls. He then presents her with a bouquet of yellow roses. She suddenly bursts in anger and furiously knocks them aside and tells him she won't let him forget how he overstepped his jurisdiction by sending Anderson, who attacked her vampires and killed one of their best men. Maxwell drops all pretenses; he says that although they came to her humbly, she had to be uppity. He tells her to shut up and listen, then has Renaldo show her a FREAK chip. Freak chips and vampires have become more common in Rome; they discovered that most were from England. The failure to handle this situation is likely the result of a poor agency becoming even weaker, and in Iscariot's view, Hellsing and the vampires are the same. Maxwell says that the Vatican cares little about what Hellsing does, but if they stand in Iscariot's way, they will be exterminated. Maxwell then insults her by calling her a swine. Integra smirks, and Alucard appears behind her. Maxwell, visibly surprised, shakes at the sight. Alucard walks towards them, ripping on Catholicism, before stopping behind Integra. Maxwell says, in fear, "The Nosferatu, Alucard!" Alucard just smiles. Alucard then pulls out his gun on Maxwell, telling him that he won't leave alive after insulting his master. Maxwell looks terrified but begins to laugh. Just as Alucard is about to shoot, Maxwell then receives a message over the intercom that says Captain Hook will capture Tiger Lily. Integra looks a little confused but understands, glaring at Maxwell. Maxwell tells "Wendy" that she should go. Integra's eyes narrow, and she storms away, and Alucard, after finally understanding, engages in battle with Anderson in the subway.
After the intense battle between Alucard and Anderson, with Alucard on the winning end, the scene returns to the art museum. Integra is in the cafe; Maxwell approaches her confidently until Renaldo tells him that Anderson has been defeated. Integra drops money on the table and walks towards him. Just as she passes by, she stops and tells him that Hellsing bows to no one and that all obstacles in its path will be destroyed. She then calls him Vatican's "male swine" and smiles, walking away. Maxwell displays visible anger at her statement. Outside, Integra is smiling and comments that it stopped raining.
Order 08: Kill House[]
Integra and Fargason oversee the training of new recruits for Hellsing. They stand on top of a wide training course; there is no ceiling, and below them, men with guns run through different rooms, shooting at targets. Fargason informs Integra that there are 74 new trainees, and that they've included foreigners in the program. She then watches the trainees for a few more minutes before turning and walking away.
Outside, Walter waits for Integra in front of her car. He informs her that their foreign contacts found the Freak chip factory in Hong Kong, but when the Hong Kong SDU were sent in, they discovered that everything, including the evidence, had been destroyed. Integra says that all of their leads are disappearing. Walter says that working with atheists was something they never have done before, but he guesses that they had no choice. Integra says that they were unable to find the British SAS agent, and they now need war potential. Walter nods. Integra adds that they also need those who will not become ghouls. Walter agrees again, and she gets into the car and leaves.
Later, one of the Round Table Knights reports on the Freak chips. He says that although they are still unsure of how the Freak chips worked, they are certain that due to the small size of the chip, there is no magic involved. Their conclusion then is that perhaps humans possess the Freaks within them. The other Knights are surprised. Integra interrupts and says that the investigation is heading in the wrong direction. She says that the role of the Round Table and Hellsing has always been to dispose of the undead and those who oppose the Queen. Even if created by humans, Freaks are still Freaks; the Round Table's enemy. Fearing its discovery, the chip's creators destroyed the Freak chip factory and killed the chip designers. Integra smiles ferociously and informs the Knights that their enemy is a Human rather than a vampire. She says that the enemy will hide in rabbit holes if frightened and that the Knights and the Hellsing Organization have one Mission; it is to "Search and Destroy."
Later on, Integra opens the door to her office and is startled to see the Hellsing training course inside. Before she can understand what is happening, she suddenly finds herself bound and gagged to a pole in the center of the room. She struggles to break free; outside of the room, she hears an explosion. Next, the door to the course room is blown open, and some of the trainees enter with guns. They then aim their weapon at Integra; her eyes widen in fear.
The walls of the rooms fall down, and a red bright pentagram whirl's above her in the sky. She then hears Alucard say, "Part two of the spell is released." Integra spits out the mouth gag and screams his name before falling onto the grass. When she looks up, she sees the Hellsing seal in the sky. Alucard appears behind her, asking her to release the restriction of power. Integra whirls around in anger, demanding to know what is going on. He asks her how it feels to be made a target. She, confused, watches Alucard, who suddenly starts laughing. She proceeds to ask "what's so funny". Alucard, still grinning, says that until now, all the enemies he has fought were pathetic and weak. However, the new enemy is different. Startled, Integra turns to face him. Alucard says that this enemy, the one who has come from the continent, is the true enemy. Integra's eyes widen in shock, and she says "The real undead." Alucard laughs and says that he is pleased - the new enemy will truly test his powers. Integra gasps and can only stare at him in shock.
Order 09: Red Rose Vertigo[]
Integra prepares to start a raid of subjugating freaks on a castle known as "Bobhan" foreshadowing the next event. At the moment Integra exits the helicopter we are shown the POV of Incognito. Later on, the raid was unfortunately interrupted, and the SAS are forced to withdraw their troops.
cutting into the next scene of Integra returning back to the Hellsing HQ where Laura is shown to be Integra's little sister, as stated by Walter. Integra and Laura are shown to have a conversation following that, but Integra contemplates about Laura even being a part of their family, cutting to her having a nightmare about the past. Laura having appeared out of no where undresses Integra, and Laura is later on revealed to not even be Integra's sister, but a Vampire Assassin sent by Incognito to turn her into a ghoul. As she tries to put the FREAK Chip in Integra, Integra explains a backstory, tempting Laura to shove a knife into Integra's abdomen to keep her quiet while trying to turn Integra to a ghoul. Alucard arrives not long after, saving integra. As this occurs, Integra stands up and grabs the knife, stabbing herself in the neck, nullifying the effects of the FREAK Chip.
Order 10: Master of Monster[]
Integra, after the fight with Laura, is in critical condition, and Alucard makes Integra remember her courageous acts so she could go through the painful operation.
Order 11: Transcended Force[]
Integra recovers from her injury and talks with Alucard from her wheelchair. She then goes back to her room and Walter tells her about all the civilians that were murdered by Ghouls and knowing that Paul Wilson, a former SAS member, has become a FREAK. Walter suggest a Round Table meeting but Integra disagrees and says that The Queen has a plan. She then goes to the basement and meets with Alucard, who immediately asks Integra if she wants to mix her blood with his. Integra tells him to read her mind. Alucard responds back by saying that he wants to hear her say it. They both then switch topics to the ceremony. Before Integra leaves, Alucard asks her if she wants to drink his blood. Integra then ignores him and proceeds to walk away. After ignoring Walter's advice that she should rest, Integra says that The Queen is coming into the Hellsing Organization to hold a ceremony. Integra goes to the holy place of Heledom, and Alucard, appearing as mud, watches her.
Order 12: Total Destruction[]
After the Hellsing Organization fell into Incognito's trap and was framed as a terrorist organization, Integra, who was at the holy place of Heledom, becomes frustrated when Alucard tells her that she has to defend herself from now on. A confused Integra runs back to the Hellsing Organization with Walter and slams her desk in shock and anger. Integra, who was worried, tells Walter to call Fargason, however Fargason doesn't answer, and so, instead they try to talk with the British Military which only resulted in his death, much to Integra's dismay. Integra realizes that everything is falling apart and tells Walter that they will not surrender, and says that there's still hope. After hearing that the Queen is praying for the Hellsing Organization, she gets motivated and orders Walter to get a Helicopter. After Walter gives Integra a blanket to warm her, they quickly go to the place where the Hellsing Military is fighting Incognito's SAS Ghouls.
Order 13: Hellfire[]
Integra and Walter are being chased by the British Military in a helicopter. They quickly ask them both to surrender, but Walter, after getting fired on by the Helicopters that are following them, instead risks his life to save Integra from the crashing aircraft after promising that he will protect her, even if it costs his life. Integra lands safely and is terrified and saddened after Walter's hands bleed and the Helicopter explodes. This was interrupted by Incognito, who has defeated Alucard. Incognito prepares for a ritual to summon Sett, but Integra commands Alucard to release Level 1. Alucard uses the blood of the fallen Hellsing soldiers to revive. The two then quickly have a rematch, and Seras, who was quick to rescue Integra, assures her that Alucard will win.
Aftermath[]
As expected, Alucard won. We then see that the master of Incognito was one of the Round Tables member. The traitor was dealt with and the scene cuts to a cuffed Integra with Alucard. Alucard breaks a glass of wine which made his hand bleed, and gives Integra a choice if she wants to drink his blood to become a vampire.
