The Security Service Chief, otherwise known as the Military Intelligence, Section 5 Chief 《MI5長官, MI5 Chōkan》 is a minor, yet pivotal character in the Hellsing TV series created by Gonzo.
He's the Chief of Section-5 of the Military Intelligence, also known as the Security Service; whose job is to investigate a certain items mechanism, and their priority was, the FREAK Chip. He's also one of the members of the The Convention of Twelve, in the anime only.
Only appearing on-screen on two episodes, the unnamed MI5 Chief was voiced by Yoshiyuki Kaneko in Japanese, and Ralph Lister in the English dub of the anime.
Appearance[]
The MI5 Chief is a middle aged looking-man with a balding brown hair, and brown eyes with sharp features. He also dresses in a formal attire, which includes a white, long-sleeved shirt with a purple tie; in a black suit and along with a matching black dress pants, and a pair of black business shoes.
Involvement[]
With the recent rise of vampires and now, a discovery of a chip that turns people into "FREAKs", otherwise known as "artificial vampires", the MI5's priority is now to investigate these chips, and to discover who's distributing it. And in the middle of investigating it, the MI5 Chief sent one of his special agents to investigate an underground organisation after having found a man named "Britz", who's connected to them. However, the man he sent, named "David", was brutally killed and impaled by the flag of Great Britain, and was sent to the oceans, floating around the oceans that surrounds London; to serve a lesson.
With this, Sir Integra, the leader of the Hellsing Organisation calls all of the Convention of Twelve member to hold a discussion about the devices which turns people into vampires. One of the Convention of Twelve member is of course, the MI5 Chief and later; he participated and eventually held a conversation with Integra about the man he sent, and how investigating the mechanism of this device is not her job, but instead, his job to do so. He however, does not reply back and instead, smirks; and Hugh Irons, the leader of the Round Table Conference, came to his defense by stating that the Convention of Twelve's purpose is to serve and prove their loyalty to her Majesty, by sharing their knowledge and power to the other members of the Round Table, and by attending these meetings.
After a lengthy conversation, the Hellsing Manor was raided by an unknown group of people with an army of ghouls, and he, along with others except for Irons and Integra, were left, panicked. Eventually however, the situation was resolved thanks to the Hellsing Organisation's Trump Card, and their trusty Butler along with a newbie. And the MI5 Chief eventually came home safe and sound, and after an unknown vampire from the Dark Continent struck, and destroyed most of London; the Hellsing Organisation's leader, Integra was apprehended because the public deemed them; a "terrorist organisation". The traitor discovered amongst the Round Table was discovered but however, the creator of the chips is still being investigated by the MI5.
Power[]
He's the leader of the Section 5 of the Military Intelligence, and the organizations main specialty, is to, of course, investigate the mechanism of a certain item, or to determine who's the distributor of that item. He's also one of the members of the Convention of Twelve, where powerful people gather to discuss something and, to show their loyalty to the Queen; by sharing their power and knowledge to the rest, and by attending these gatherings.
