Hellsing Wiki

Hellsing 2 is the second volume in the Hellsing manga series written and illustrated by Kohta Hirano. During production, chapters ended up lower than expected, so Crossfire (an old work of Hirano's) was added in to fill in the gap and increase the page count.

It was originally released in Japan on December 31, 1999, by Shonengahosha, and in North America on March 1, 2004, by Dark Horse Comics; later, they republished it under the "second edition" title on December 20, 2023. The volume was also included within the first volume of the Hellsing Deluxe Edition series released by Dark Horse Comics.

The anime adapted the first volume from episodes 5-7, albeit loosely. The OVA adapted it in its second volume (with notable differences), while Crossfire was adapted in a Drama CD format, which was released alongside OVA VI.

Summary[]

Hellsing[]

While Sir Integra holds a Round Table conference to report her findings regarding the current wave of vampire attacks, vampire brothers Jan and Luke Valentine launch a covert sneak attack on the Hellsing compound with the help of a ghoul army outfitted with military gear and small arms. Almost all of the Hellsing soldiers are killed in the process and turned into ghouls before Alucard, Seras, and Walter C. Dornez (who shows why he was once known as the "Angel of Death") are able to turn the tide. Jan reveals the name of the group responsible for the attack as Millennium, and Integra hints to Walter that surviving Nazi officials could have been responsible for the attack. In a bid to increase manpower following the devastating attack on Hellsing Headquarters, Walter recruits the mercenary group known as Wild Geese and integrates them into Hellsing's security forces. Integra receives information from Enrico Maxwell, the fanatical leader of Iscariot, that confirms her suspicions of Millennium's origins.

Crossfire[]

A church was attacked by a group of Communist Revolutionaries, so Iscariot was called upon to handle the situation. Maxwell, the chief of the section, was called by an old friend, Anderson, who is waiting for him there. Reminiscing about the past, Anderson tells Maxwell about the situation, and soon enough, after seeing a message written in blood on the floor, Maxwell proclaims that they will pay with their souls and calls two of his elite agents to handle the situation efficiently. Yumiko and Heinkel were on the way to the hotel where the group of Communists was staying. They were met with their spy, Mr. Ridgeway, who tells them that their location was in Room 903. Dressing as a maid, Yumiko knocks on the door, and when she hears the leader of the communists, Ilyushin, telling her men not to open it, she instantly slices the door, along with the man, in half, and a fight breaks out between the two. Iscariot prevails, and the Communist leader was assassinated.
