A FREAK Chip (フリークチップ, Furīku Chippu?) is a device implanted into humans, turning them into artificial vampires. It then gives them powers similar to a vampire and in some cases, even more powerful skills than those that would be expected.

The breeds of someone turning into an undead being caused by these chips are officially known as "FREAKs", hence the name; "FREAK chip".

Profile[]

The chip itself looks like a modified sealed silicon circuit. There are dozens, perhaps, one hundred flexible wires that extend from the edges of the chip in all directions.[1] It's these wires that grant what mobility the chip is able to summon.[2] The device promises power, ecstasy and immortal youth, all with high that you never come down from; at the cost of ones humanity.

The level of technical expertise and delicate construction of the chip indicate that it is a high-end product, requiring skilled technicians and expensive facilities to construct the items in any quantity. If the processes are the same as for any other microchip technology, then the tools and assembly procedures requires would seem to make the construction of the implants almost impossible to hide. It may be that they are outside of the UK then shipped in. It could also be that the facility is disguised as a similar yet harmless type of manufacturing business and thus is able to continue production uninterrupted. Regardless, it remains to be seen if the law enforcement officials can stop the production and distribution of this product before any further attacks take place.

Usage[]

The FREAK Chip was created by Incognito and Incognito's Master. The chips empower the user to become vampires, in that they will never be fatigued as they have high stamina. In some cases it can revert the aging process and give the user special abilities like transforming into unsightly wingless bat-creatures or telepathy. The chip has been used to transform characters like Paul Wilson, Luke Valentine and Jan into false vampires.[3][4] A large amount of chips loaded into a person could create an undead of greater power.[5]

Although it creates vampires that are miles stronger than a human, they're still weaker than true vampires; miles weaker than them, even Wilson, who was implanted with multiple chips onto his body directly, which would make him stronger than probably even the Valentine brothers, couldn't even defeat Seras.[6] In addition, once a person has been implanted with the FREAK chip, the effects are irreversible; they permanently became a fake undead, and even if the chip was removed from the body; it won't cure the person infected by the chip. The only way to really cure someone who turned into a vampire is to kill them.[7]

Abilities Granted[]

  • Superhuman Strength: Artificial Vampires, although weaker than true vampires, are still stronger than the strongest of the humans; one SAS vampire was shown to have been able to throw a fully equipped Hellsing member to a wall with such force that; their head was stuck onto that said wall.[8]
  • Superhuman Speed and Reflexes: Normally, they're slightly faster than a human, but however, with more than a few chips implanted onto ones body; there's a slight possibility that it'll grant one the ability to be miles faster than a human and probably become the fastest living thing on earth.
  • Superhuman Endurance: They're incredibly durable, and could withstand any bullets inflected onto them.
  • Regeneration: While their regenerative abilities are far slower and miles weaker than that of a true vampire's, they can still regenerate minor wounds inflicted on them, such as being shot for example. However, artificial vampires can never regenerate missing limbs.[9]
  • Telepathy: An artificial vampire can read and speak directly into the minds of those they have sucked blood from.[10]
